I thought the Learning Fund was $1,000...did it change?

  • The learning fund was $1,000 during the 2011-12 school year. For budgeting reasons, the amount is being lowered to $800, though we anticipate raising it again.

Does the cost of curriculum come out of the Learning Fund?

  • Yes.

What can the Learning Fund be used to purchase?

  • After price of core curriculum choice is deducted, leftover funds can be used for supplemental curriculum, laptop lease, and extracurricular activities.

What is the process for accessing the Learning Fund?

  • Once a product or service is selected by the student/family, notify Brandy Davidson at learningfund@epiccharterschools.org.
  • Epic will purchase the product or service for the student/family using the funds allocated for the Learning Fund account.
  • For Product Orders - please allow 2 weeks for purchasing.
  • For Service Orders - please allow up to 30 days for payment to process.

What is the difference between a product and a service?

  • A product is a learning tool such as a book, iPad, chemistry set, software...
  • A service would be something like instructional courses/lessons such as music lessons, gym memberships, etc.

What is the Learning Fund NOT ALLOWED to do?
